Fleadh na gCuach is a hugely enjoyable and successful traditional music and community based arts festival held in Kinvara Galway which is celebrating its 30th year in 2024. A well established and a great reputation has ensured that the Cuckoo Fleadh has become a showcase for the best in traditional music, attracting musicians from all over Ireland and beyond.
The festivities will kick off with a special launch event at 6:30 pm on Friday, the 3rd of May, at the Pier Head in Kinvara, featuring renowned singer-songwriter John Faulkner. It will set the tone for a weekend of celebration, camaraderie, and the joy of traditional music.

What to expect at Fleadh na gCuach
The festival will have a mix of traditional music, singing sessions, set dancing and poetry readings. It takes place every year on the May bank holiday weekend (the first weekend in May).
Expect great traditional Irish music blaring around the streets. There’s plenty of traditional Irish music available from Connollys, Canoles, Fahys of Nogra, Flatleys, Greens, Keoghs, the Merriman Hotel, The Pier Head, Sextons & Tullys with shows and lessons in Traditional Irish dancing throughout the weekend too.
Family-friendly activities
At Fleadh na gCuach 2024, family-friendly activities abound, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy. From traditional music, singing sessions, and poetry readings to kids’ activities like the Cuckoo Fun Run, Puppet Show, Art Play, and more, attendees can anticipate a weekend brimming with joy and entertainment.
